There is no official word on whether the Samsung Galaxy S6 could launch but Samsung has an annual product cycle that rarely strays far from.

In fact from the Samsung Galaxy S2 on the company has always announced their phones in or near MWC and we’re pretty sure that the same will be true for the Galaxy S6.

MWC 2015 is set to take place between March 2 and March 5 so it is likely to see the Samsung Galaxy S6 sometime around then. Possibly not himself but perhaps in a press conference a day or two before the show begins as did for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch before the IFA 2014 and indeed there are reports that the Galaxy S6 arrive at MWC in two flavors.

A group of analysts in South Korea Samsung have told something jumping the gun with the launch of the Galaxy S6 at CES 2015. But CES has been and gone and Galaxy S6 not make an appearance.

That said it may have been there in secret as it is rumored that Samsung was showing the phone in camera to “selected partners” but even if that happened not expect any of them to Blab.

No real information about what the Samsung Galaxy S6 could cost well but this is a flagship phone we’re talking about.

This means it is unlikely to be any cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S5 which at launch was sold for £ 579 (about $ 972 / AUD 1048) SIM free.

Given that the specifications will presumably be better and that is likely to have a higher premium may build could be even more expensive but we’d be surprised if Samsung was much larger £ 600 / $ 1000 / AU $ 1100.

Design Samsung Galaxy S6

Speaking of metal we have also seen images of what could be the mobile shell courtesy of Nowhereelse.fr. It is not clear how he obtained these images to take with a pinch of salt but we are expecting a metal frame so it might well be legitimate.

The resolution is likely to get a boost though as Samsung has already released the 2560 x 1440 Galaxy Note 4 and even among the smaller screen is the equally QHD Galaxy S5 LTE-A in South Korea so we expect the Galaxy S6 for a resolution at least as high.

In fact Samsung has said it expects to have smartphones with 4K 3840 x 2160 screens on the market in 2015. It is possible then that the S6 jump and go directly to 2K 4K but with an expected launch early 2015 would be surprised.

More likely is that Samsung except that the Galaxy Note 5 … well surely that is reaching the point of too many pixels on a screen phone?

In any case said SamMobile is likely to launch a QHD screen. A second report from the Chinese site cnmo.com had alleged AnTuTu benchmarking result of the S6 galaxy confirmed was a matter QHD screen 2560 x 1440.

We also have the wind profile user agent TechTastic Dutch site which reveals a qHD display 1440 x 2560 for a phone believed to be the S6 galaxy so it is very probable appearance.

Whether or not QHD Samsung Galaxy S6 may have a slightly larger screen than the Galaxy S5. The company has slowly been increasing the size of the screens of their flagships and do not be surprised if the Galaxy S6 were taking things for others 0.1 or 0.2 to 5.2 inches or 5.3 inches . Samsung may decide to go all the way up to 5.5 inches given the Google Nexus 6 has launched a 6-inch screen.

If Samsung can reduce the size of the bezel then you could probably even get without increasing the footprint of the phone. On the other hand Note 4 is not larger than the Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung will want to keep their two premier brands differentiated quality so you might decide that 5.1 inches is the sweet spot.

Note Edge

There is also a possibility that the Galaxy S6 could have a flexible display. Samsung has been looking at this technology for some time and has recently launched including Edge Galaxy Note: a version of Note 4 in the corners of the screen first so it is possible.

Others have been keen to promote this idea with the rumors that were supposed to Edge Note to introduce the double-curved design but was shelved and pushed the Galaxy S6. It would certainly increase the brand presence on the shelves of stores.

The curved screen idea has also been pushed by South Korean news Daum which goes predict 2560 x 1440 resolution (the same as the Galaxy Note 4) and 810 Snapdragon processor.

But we doubt Samsung equip its flagship with such proven technology so it is expected that the S range sticking with a flat screen for at least another year.

On the other hand we can see both flat and curved version like the Note 4. Rumors SamMobile and Business Insider suggest that is exactly what will happen with the Galaxy S6 wearing a flat screen and a separate galaxy S6 Edge being thrown by him although the source of SamMobile has reversed since theoretically particular.

GforGames also states that we will see two versions of the phone to be the Galaxy S6 Edge a limited edition with an apparent sales forecast ‘only’ 10 million units in 2015.

We can believe would happen if it was just a variant and would be great if the S6 had a bendy screen – something different from the continuously similar rectangular designs right?
